This index presents historical and modern wars and conflicts taking place in the present territory of, or relating to, Senegal. Senegal was granted independence from France in 1960 as part of the Mali Federation which broke up a few months later into Sengal and Mali. The territory had been under French colonial rule since the late 19th century.
