Spartacist Revolt in Germany 1919

Rosa Luxemburg (1871-1919) and Karl Liebnecht (1871-1919), German communists of the Spartacist League who led the Spartacist Revolt (January), an insurrection against Germany's Social-Democratic government. The rebels were easily defeated by the government in alliance with the army, using the Freikorps militia, which captured and murdered them both (January 15).
