Dominican-Haitian Border Clash 1963

Hostilities erupted again in September of 1963 when both sides shelled each other across the border. The [Organization of American States] OAS again intervened to make peace. That fall two hurricanes caused much destruction in the two neighboring hostile countries. The Haitian and Dominican governments, now preoccupied with pressing domestic problems, ceased further belligerency.
