The October Crisis in Canada 1969-1970

In 1969 Quebec Liberation Front terrorists engaged in bombing, kidnapping, and murder, including the murder of Quebec labor minister Pierre La Porte; the Canadian government responded with mass arrests and sent army units to Montreal.

In 1970 Canadian troops and police brought the terrorist "October Crisis" in Quebec to a close; the question of Quebec remained the central problem facing the nation.
