This index presents historical and modern wars and conflicts taking place in the present territory of, or relating to, Ecuador. Ecuador achieved independence from Spain as part of Gran Colombia in 1819. The territory, then known as Quito, withdrew from Gran Colombia in 1830 and changed its name to Ecuador.
