Mahdist Attack on Abyssinia 1889

Mahdist forces numbering 60,000 attacked Abyssinia (January), defeating Abyssinian forces numbering 70,000 at Debra Sin. Abyssinian forces, reportedly numbering 90,000, decisively defeated the Mahdists at Metemma (March 12), effectively ending the war.
