This index presents historical and modern wars and conflicts taking place in the present territory of, or relating to, Argentina. Argentina achieved independence from Spain in 1816. Spanish colonial expansion into what is now Argentina began in 1524 although some of the interior remained nominally independent up to the 19th century.
